The forte of Boykin Pearce Associates has been the design and fabrication of the finest in heirloom quality hardwood furniture for private homes, businesses, and religious congregations. Working in the Rocky Mountain Region as well as across the country, Boykin Pearce Associates (BPA) emphasizes a strong commitment to communication with each customer to provide the perfect design solution for each project. Equally comfortable in contemporary or traditionally inspired settings, BPA strives to orient design sensitively to the client, through synergy with the living environment. The BPA material palette includes the worlds finest materials. Hardwoods are carefully selected for grain pattern and color and are used often with precious metals or stone to yield the desired balance and design strength to the furniture. Veneers are often used to produce decorative patterns that are sometimes enhanced by inlays of metal or contrasting hardwood. The bulk of BPA’s work consists of free standing furniture such as tables and chairs, bedroom furnishings, stereo cabinets and office furniture. Built-ins can include entertainment centers and architectural specialties. Dave Boykin and Tom Pearce began collaborating in the early 1980’s. The synthesis worked well, providing a wider design perspective, greater technical expertise and superior client service. With Tom's retirement in 2006, the business continues under Dave's guidance. Today Dave works with two highly skilled employees in his urban Denver shop. Jim Price is an acclaimed graduate of Boston’s North Bennett Street School, which represents the epitome of Eighteenth Century craftsmanship. Belgian born craftsman JP d'Andrimont brings a high level of excellence and rounds out the team. Community involvement is integral to the business. Dave teaches, guest lectures and consults to architects, interior designers, community colleges and universities. BPA has consulted to the state board on degree program development in the design field and the federal penal system on votech curriculum. Dave is an Industrial Design Advisory Board Member at the Art Institute of Colorado. Boykin Pearce Associates has participated in exhibitions, invitational and juried, as exhibitors and jurors at museums, art centers, and galleries. Work has been featured in numerous local and national design and woodworking publications, including Colorado Homes & Lifestyles, American Craft, Architecture & Design and Fine Woodworking.
