Glen Ellen, CA – July 20, 2020 – Luxury Home Magazine Silicon Valley presents a Country French View Retreat in Glen Ellen, CA. Set on a private road amidst 32\u00b1 acres, this luxurious French country home offers enticing vistas and a welcoming rural respite. Anticipation, drama and illumination fill the entry breezeway that connects to two symmetrical pavilions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The home was constructed in 3 stages \u2013 the \u201cmain house\u201d, the \u201cguest house\u201d and finally, the grounds with a disappearing edge pool, plantings and gardens. Distinctive architectural features were used throughout. 12 ft ceilings accentuate the open floor plans in both pavilions while multiple banks of 8 ft French doors provide abundant light and seamless access to private garden areas, the rear terrace and pool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The building of the \u201cmain house\u201d started with the acquisition of breathtaking 18th century doors from France, one of the many artistic focal points of the home. The exterior paint was blended by colorist, Tim Caton, to achieve complex hues reminiscent of rural France. An \u201cOld World\u201d theme continues throughout the home with copper lined shuttered doors, handsome egg-shaped bronze knobs, brass overlays, lovely art wells, circa 1920 fans, alternating oval and square transoms and two muriatic acid-treated steel surround fireplaces. A set of sound-proof, upholstered double doors were created to ensure privacy in the large master suite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The walled rear courtyard includes an expansive veranda with soaring outlooks over the Valley of the Moon and to the Bay. Sheltered by 30-year-old wisteria vines, it is the perfect venue for alfresco dining, relaxing or entertaining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
