The Dewar Lee Pringle House, circa 1762, is an exquisite four-story Charleston Single house located on one of the most iconic streets in downtown Charleston. This stately home uniquely blends Greek and Egyptian Revival styles with large, elegant rooms, seven fireplaces, fine moldings, and original heart pine flooring. A three-tiered piazza and a rooftop deck overlook a luxurious garden with a private drive and parking for four cars. Extensively renovated over the past few years, this incredible masterpiece provides owners with modern luxuries while honoring its storied history.Just past the rod iron gate, a quintessential black and white checkered floor welcomes you into the lovely ground-level piazza overlooking the lush-walled garden. Inside, the grand foyer boasts a stunning wide staircase with the original mahogany railing that magnificently encircles the center of the house. On the ground level, the expansive primary suite features original heart pine flooring and a fireplace with a Georgian-style mantle. A few years ago, the private walled garden underwent a complete transformation to create the unbelievably serene and private oasis it is today. The garden won HGTV’s Ultimate Gardens of the year in 2022 and is brimming with lush landscaping, a brick inlay seating area, and a charming garden fountain that provides soothing sounds of running water. Named after the many prominent Charleston families who owned it before, the Dewar-Lee-Pringle House, at 92 Tradd Street, is a relic of Charleston history. Charles Dewar built this house shortly after purchasing the lot in 1762. Later, the Lee family bought the property in 1835 and were prominent members of Charleston’s Free African-American society. In the 1850s, Eliza Lee and her husband added beautiful fireplace mantels, decorative window surrounds on the facade, and door casings through the first three floors. Earnest Pringle, President of the Bank of South Carolina, purchased the home in 1873, and his descendants have occupied the residence for many years to follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tradd Street is a highly sought-after residential area located in the historic district of Charleston, South Carolina.
