\nOne of the major takeaways of this season\u2019s High Point Market was a strong shift in coastal design towards contemporary principles. We\u2019re seeing elevated takes on this ever-popular aesthetic, from more subtle nods to the ocean that feature freeform shapes, such as in Phillips Collection\u2019s elegant Cast Blue Onyx Bowl. We\u2019re also noticing delicate yet clever reflections of sea life, found in pieces such as Arteriors\u2019 Indi Large Chandelier. A minimalistic color palette relies on materiality and chic silhouettes to create visual interest, as found in Palecek\u2019s Levine Coffee Table, which brings a more elemental, contemporary approach to coastal-inspired furniture design. The designer saw Tara Shaw\u2019s new collection with Century Furniture as a highlight because the stunning French- and Gustavian-inspired pieces are traditional and pared back in terms of color palette, yet over scaled to suit the volume and grandeur of luxurious South Florida estates.<\/p>\n

Proportion was also on her mind as she discovered French Market\u2019s stunning digitally printed landscape murals which feature continuous designs spanning between 17-20 feet wide, offering an excellent value while still achieving an antique look. And if you\u2019re not ready to take the leap with a mural that large, we\u2019re swooning over Jamie Young Company\u2019s Garland Side Table that will bring a touch of botanical beauty to your bedroom or seating area. She\u2019s also smitten with Ro Sham Beaux\u2019s whimsical rattan lighting offerings, particularly the Avery or Victoria Chandelier.
