“Our Story” should really be about “Your Story”, but some people are interested in who we are and where we came from, as we are both proud of our family/business history and how the story impacts how we represent and serve our clients. Our story begins at Kristi Harnish’s early age of 17 and her heartfelt passion for being a realtor. But more about Kristi later. Son Justin grew up in Lake Oswego, went to Lake Oswego schools while at the same time absorbed the personality, tools and early skills that led to his later success. With Justin’s determination in education and sports he earned his degree in Business Administration from the University of San Diego (USD), and soon after started down a unique career path from coast to coast in business software sales. And jump into it he did, quickly rising to the top 3% of his company. All that changed, however, when

Justin returned home to help his mother fight breast cancer. After helping her win that battle he asked, “where do my priorities lie in life?” Soon thereafter, in the early 2000s, Justin joined the Harnish team and became the rising star for which he had worked so hard. His resolve and dedication to family was further strengthened with the birth of son Hunter who happily survived open heart surgery at day two of life. These were the events which Justin and spouse Megan and daughter Stella now cherish as having clarified and broadened their faith and their commitment to helping others.

With Justin’s new found perspective and his own quiet and internal passion for sales, Justin soon helped Harnish Properties to be named in Realtor Magazine as one of the top 100 sales teams in the U.S. His life experiences and knowledge of the local market have been marked with his own independent goals and a common vision of where his family adventure and Harnish Properties will go next. Important to the business side of his life as of 2015, Justin was the number one selling Broker in Lake Oswego and all of Oregon in 6 of the last 7 years.

As the Harnish Property team understands, it was the early vision and drive of Kristi that launched the process. Her sweat and tears in the early 1980s fighting 18% interest rates, building a reputation of honesty, intelligence, drive and sincerity, sometimes dragging 3 young children in tow, led to almost unparalleled success. She happily acknowledges the valuable lessons from her mentors and earnestly passed those lessons on to Justin. As Kristi was always at the top of her company and for the better part of 25 years was the top or among the top three Brokers in the State, she along with her attorney/husband Jon didn’t miss a beat with the “kids”.

Kristi has been at the top of her profession and you’ll hear her clients use words to describe her like “professional”, “distinctive maturity” and “ a presence about her” or admire her sincerity and compassion for others. Kristi, as the daughter in law and Justin as the grandson of a pastor, both carry the values or grace, humbleness and courtesy. At the same time you will find them subtly driven and motivated by the passion for excellence found in the family team. Moreover, it is these same values they seek to have in the other non-family associates in the company. And so there it is.
