Millions of people travel to South Florida each year to enjoy the warm weather and pristine golf courses. For those that desire a south Florida home, the Ocean Reef Club is one of the premier golf and country clubs. Occupying 2,500 acres on the northern tip of Key Largo, the club boasts waterfront estates, two championship golf courses, a 175-slip marina, nature center, spa and salon, and dining and shopping venues.

To create the perfect design for our clients’ new Ocean Reef home, the Gil Walsh Interiors team took into account their private art collection, their lifestyle, the unique architecture of the house, and the spectacular water view.

The design concept for this 7,000 square foot home was a casual Balinese style.

The colors of the clients’ sculpture displayed in the living room influenced the colors chosen for the interior design. The continually changing daylight and the colors of the water were reflected off the sculpture, inspiring our designers to choose a beautiful shade of blue green as the dominant color, with accents of purple and lavender.

Organic elements used throughout the home compliment the clients’ private art collection. The bamboo ceiling, sisal bed frame, Coquina dining table bases, and vintage bamboo furniture are just a few of the organic details we added.

A crackle glass top measuring 120 x 60 inches sits on top of the Coquina bases. It was created in one piece by a local glass artist turning the table into a work of art. The circular light fixture hanging over the table adds a sculptural element to the design of the room and is light and airy enough that it doesn’t interfere with the view of the water.
