This hand-crafted leather pendant is inspired by the tropical foliage found in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The artist has created classic, leaf-like shapes into elegant, sculptural pieces by embossing leather into a perforated form using a traditional press. Each ‘leaf’ is crafted from quality, locally-sourced, vegetable-tanned leather, providing for both a beautiful and ethical chandelier for your home.

Over centuries, glass beads have been crafted in Africa using a technique passed down through generations. The process begins with compressing glass into a dry grain, which is then heated to fuse the pieces together. The recycled glass is poured into a porcelain mold, and the stem of a cassava leaf is used to create holes in the beads. The beads are placed in a furnace, where the glass melts and the cassava stem burns away, leaving behind the unique, grainy ‘sand glass’ bead.

Handcrafted in South Africa, Wood Chandeliers show off tiers of cascading discs formed from sustainable sources of jacaranda wood. The creation process is very labor intensive, but the results are worth it. This natural-yet-elegant finish is available in four unique style options.
