10 Feb TGL: A New World of Golf

by Monica Dao
The much-anticipated TGL Tournament shot onto the scene on January 7th, reimagining classic golf with an electrifying twist. Spearheaded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, this indoor golf league brings together top PGA pros for an intense, 2-hour competition like you’ve never seen before. Using cutting-edge, advanced technology, TGL creates a virtual, action-packed environment that transforms the sport.

Set in the first-of-its-kind SoFi Center at Palm Beach State College’s Eissey Campus in Palm Beach Gardens, this 250,000-square-foot area is built exclusively for TGL. It features a supersized golf simulator screen that rests on top of a massive, morphing green. The dynamic layout exhibits 30 different hole layouts–including fairways, rough and surfaces–all depending on where the ball lands. But here’s the real challenge: the courses aren’t just iconic courses around the world, but instead over 25 custom-designed holes that will test every golfer’s skill to the limit.
Every shot is broadcasted live, with mic’d up players, walk-up music and a 40-second shot clock to keep the action rolling. This isn’t the golf we knew–this is the golf of the future. TGL delivers an intoxicating competition that captures the intensity and excitement of the game for a new generation of golf fans.

With its’ star-studded roster, prime-time broadcasts, and unique concept, TGL is setting the bar higher than ever before and shaking up the sports world. If you want to experience this energy first-hand, you can sit in one of SoFi Center’s 1,500 seats around their nearly 100-yards long and 50-yards wide field. Or, if you’d rather watch it from the comfort of your home, catch all the games on ESPN+ without missing a beat.
The TGL season continues every Monday and Tuesday, leading up to the grand finale where the final teams face off to win the SoFi Cup in a beat-of-three showdown on March 24th and 25th.
