Halsey Park, Downtown Charleston’s newest enclave

Halsey Park is luxury in Downtown Charleston with a new point of view – Featured on the Cover of LHM, Charleston Issue 3.1.

(Charleston, S.C.) February 15, 2017 – Luxury Home Magazine of Charleston & the Lowcountry is excited to announce the first issue of 2017 for those dreaming of a home with a water view, Halsey Park offers exciting news. Overlooking tranquil Alberta Long Lake, the Ashley River, and the City Marina, Halsey Park offers residents a front row seat to the daily fireworks show known as sunset over the Ashley.

Purchasing a historic home downtown can be exciting… but the never-ending repairs, improvements, lawn service, security, and lack of parking can dramatically impede on the initial joy of the purchase.

Halsey Park offers a wonderful solution: Rowhouses of new construction, built with exacting detail, designed for the very latest technology, each with private elevators traveling to every floor and secure garage parking. For those concerned they may miss the homey feel of a lawn, Halsey Park offers a solution as well: A half-acre, manicured park and garden pathway running throughout the interior of the community—directly accessible to all homes.

The location of Halsey Park itself commanded the Rowhouse design with gracious rooftop terraces and a flipped layout to offer privacy and to maximize your views of Alberta Long Lake, the Ashley River and the City Marina. Classic Charleston porches will help you to catch the breezes while viewing the center garden. Inspired by the historic Bull Street “Bee’s Row” townhouses, The Halsey Rowhouses have been masterfully designed in partner-ship by Glenn Keyes Architects and Julie O’Connor of American Vernacular to honor Charleston’s historic setting and compliment this “South of Calhoun” neighborhood with a new elegant architectural gem.

For those who love the soft caress of the sea breeze and the drama of glorious sunsets, the pièce de résistance of a Halsey Park rowhouse may well be the rooftop terrace. A home offering a rooftop terrace accessible by elevator and overlooking the water is a feature enjoyed by only a few—but Halsey Park places it within reach.

Halsey Park also offers an opportunity for those ready to build their dream home: Six home-sites approved for the construction of custom homes, and a design-build team ready to work with you today. Halsey Park offers all these wonderful benefits of life downtown, from a new point of view.

About Bennett Hofford Construction Company

The Bennett Hofford Construction Company has humble roots from when John H. Hofford began his career in construction while still a college student, preparing him to start his own construction company in 1979. Initially he engaged in labor subcontracting for framing and siding, and eventually moved into General Contracting for larger projects. From the beginning, all work from foundations to roofing was performed in-house, which provided a tremendous amount of hands-on experience for Hofford and his team. He quickly transformed his business and gained a much-deserved reputation for excellence.

In 1983, John H. Hofford became President of Bennett Hofford Construction Company, Inc., and began its tradition of building high-end, custom residential homes. The result was a thriving company that grew into award-winning historic restorations and commercial land development.

Since then, Bennett Hofford has built over 300 of the highest quality homes and neighborhoods all over the Lowcountry and along the coast of South Carolina. As one of the first and now well-known developers on Kiawah Island, a great number of our homes are on Kiawah; however, that has led to numerous homes on neighboring Seabrook, Edisto and Wadmalaw Islands.

In 1990 Bennett Hofford received the Honor Award from the American Institute of Architects, and in 1993 the company achieved the Grand Award from Builders Magazine. More recently, Bennett Hofford has been involved in the development of Poplar Grove, a conservation community in Charleston, SC. situated on 6,500 acres of marshlands, woods, canals, ponds, open waterways, and nature trails. In 2007 the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development selected Bennett Hofford to build the nation’s second PATH Concept Home at Poplar Grove. Hofford continues to participate in H.U.D. programs that identify and promote strategies for better home building.

The enormous success of Bennett Hofford Construction is largely attributed to its client-oriented team of professionals, all of whom have been with the company for years. The wealth of talent, dedication and experience of the team further sets Bennett Hofford Construction Company apart from the competition. Hofford’s far-reaching vision and strong leadership have proven to be a successful guide to the company for 28 years and counting.
