Where Architecture Meets The Austin Skyline on the Cover of Austin and the Hill Country – Issue 14.1

Welcome to the Monarch - A Landmark Residence
Welcome to the Monarch – A Landmark Residence

February 10, 2026 – Austin, TX

Welcome to The Monarch—a landmark residence set on what was once part of the original Hatley estate, the historic founding grounds of Rollingwood. From this commanding vantage point—the most sought-after in the neighborhood—the entire city unfolds before you. The downtown skyline rises in full panoramic view, with Lake Austin glimmering alongside. The vista isn’t distant or abstract; it’s immediate, cinematic, alive. The rhythm of the city feels close enough to touch—you can even see the main stage of Austin City Limits.

Designed by renowned architect Christopher Sanders, The Monarch stands as his final residential work of art—a vision realized through light, proportion, and purpose. His signature folded-hinge design opens, angles, and unfolds to the views like wings, allowing every upstairs bedroom and living space to look directly into the heart of downtown. The skyline becomes a living backdrop, shifting with the light of day and the pulse of the city at night.

Inside, the home unfolds with quiet confidence. Volume and warmth define the main living spaces, where walls of glass pull the city directly indoors. Expansive rooms open to terraces and outdoor lounges, blurring the line between interior architecture and the landscape beyond. Natural materials, layered textures, and sculptural lighting create a sense of modern calm—an atmosphere that is at once elevated and deeply livable.

On the lower level, a private wellness retreat offers a complete sanctuary: an infrared and hot-rock sauna, fitness space, and room designed for meditation or restoration. A separate poolside casita with its own kitchenette and laundry provides total independence for guests, long stays, or creative work. The floor plan is both functional and flexible, with the ability to expand to additional bedrooms without compromising flow or design integrity.

Outdoors, the experience continues in every direction. A screened-in pool lounge with fireplace, a poolside firepit, multiple balconies, a tranquil Zen garden, and peaceful garden pathways create a rhythm of destinations—spaces crafted for both stillness and celebration beneath the open sky. Morning coffee as the city awakens. Evenings as the skyline glows golden.

Set on nearly three-quarters of an acre in Rollingwood’s most prestigious enclave, The Monarch is more than a home with an extraordinary view. It is the embodiment of Austin’s modern spirit—architecture, light, and skyline converging into a lifestyle that can’t be replicated anywhere else.

About the Listing Agent

Bridget Ramey’s first introduction to Austin was through the doors of the University of Texas, and it was almost immediately that she knew Austin is where she would come to call home. Coming from the small town of Rockport, Texas where her family is in the funeral home business, Bridget has combined her family’s work ethic and her love of research into a thriving, full concierge real estate career.

Bridget’s attention to detail, genuine love of her clients and commitment to being a full-service agent have earned her a referral business she is proud of. A student at heart, education and the research of her own real estate needs are what initially led Bridget into the world of real estate.

Even after graduating Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Communications and a minor in Public Relations, Bridget continued her education by receiving Associate Degrees in both Journalism and Radio/TV/Film, and starting her Masters in Communications.

While much of Bridget’s business is in the luxury field, particularly Central and Lake Austin properties, seeking out new territories to fulfill clients’ needs is also something Bridget thrives on. Bridget’s track record for referrals is her highest form of flattery. From ranches in Georgetown, horse farms in Dripping Springs and to the suburban areas of Spicewood, Round Rock, Lakeway and Cedar Park, Bridget has done it all. Bridget’s love and passion for her city shines through in all she does.

Hoping to get more involved in Austin, Bridget competed and won Miss Austin USA in 1995. It was this endeavor that launched Bridget’s passion for her charity work. A devoted activist for the Austin Children’s Shelter, Bridget has worked over the past nine years to help raise money and create awareness for this amazing cause. A natural born cheerleader at heart, Bridget believes in giving back to her community and feels her most significant strength lies in putting people, places and things together for the benefit of all involved.

Having lived as an adult in New York City, Miami and Rockport, in conjunction with her love of travel, Bridget has a broad perspective of different markets and lifestyles, further enabling her to understand and cater to each of her client’s real estate needs.

To know Bridget is to know her furry little guy, Noah, a 4.5 lb. teacup Yorkie. He accompanies her most everywhere she goes, including Crested Butte, Colorado, where she spends her spare time. Her love of the outdoors keeps Bridget active, and from jet skiing on Lake Austin, to hiking the mountains of Colorado, Bridget feels most at home when in harmony with the outdoors, and surrounded by family and friends.
